For several years continued advising the company as a corporate director. Later joined the company as a full-time CFO. Supervised all of the company’s financial functions. Administered benefit plans and risk management programs. Handled all banking relationships. Although now retired from the position of CFO, continues to retain an investment in the company, and serves on its Board of Directors.

VTN CORPORATION, Irvine, California

Vice President – Finance (CFO) of a publicly-held engineering and archi- tectural firm with 550 employees in 14 domestic and three foreign offices. Was hired at the height of a financial crisis after the company had incurred large losses for three straight years. Established tight spending controls and created reporting systems to monitor progress. Was instrumental in the the company’s turnaround. Salvaged the banking relationship. Was directly involved in presentations to stockbrokers, analysts, and prospective clients. Investigated acquisition opportunities, and handled problems involving the financial aspects of foreign activities.

CALIFORNIA COMPUTER PRODUCTS, INC., Anaheim, California

Vice President and General Manager. Chief executive officer of subsidiary company involved in the importation, manufacture and distribution of housewares and other consumer products to the retail trade. Had complete profit and loss responsibility. Handled all financial activities and banking relationships of the subsidiary. Fostered relationships with customers and suppliers. Was directly involved in acquisitions and disposals of operating divisions and product lines. Had substantial marketing responsibilities.

NATIONAL SYSTEMS CORPORATION (Now National Education Corporation), Newport Beach, California

Vice President and Treasurer (CFO) of an American Stock Exchange listed service company in the education field having 500 employees and a large commissioned sales force. Performed traditional duties involved with treasurer’s function and had overall responsibility for the company’s multi- divisional accounting functions. Participated in the preparation of a prospectus for a successful public stock offering and prepared S.E.C. reports on a regular basis. Involved in acquisitions, public relations and bank negotiations.

EVANS PRODUCTS COMPANY, Santa Ana, California

Controller, International Group. Was responsible for all of the group financial functions of a major building materials corporation. The International Group was engaged in the importation and wholesaling of hardwood plywood, the overseas manufacture of lumber products, and ocean ship chartering operations with annual revenues in excess of $90,000,000.

Auditor (Senior Accountant, having progressed from Staff Accountant and Semi-Senior.) In-charge responsibility for scope and quality of field audit work and for the supervision and direction of assistants from the professional staff. Audited many different types of businesses. Prepared corporate tax returns.

Passed the California C.P.A. licensing examination on the first sitting.
